About
Recorded in an Italian villa in 1992, this album presents a selection of German vocal solo music from the 17th century, mostly with a deep melancholy tone. Countertenor Claudio Cavina, who would afterwards become well-known thanks to his work with La Venexiana, is here surrounded by the viols of Concerto delle Viole who appropriately set the mood for some wonderful pieces by Krieger, Schein or Schutz.
