(1906-1975)This DSCH - CD-ROM - is the first ever produced on the basis of the composer's letters, his compositions, declassified documents, recollections of his contemporaries, photographs and video files.
This CD-ROM includes:
87 fragments of music performed by the maestro himself and major contemporary musicians.
15 unique fragments of documentaries dating from his life
350 pages of text including 230 letters of the composer.
Over 800 photos, documents and autograph music manuscripts.
Specially developed animated film.
A discography and other reference information.
The original idea and the script were developed by the international award-winning documentary-film director, Oksana Dvornichenko. Work on the project consumed over two years and was conducted in collaboration with the composer's estate.
The CD-ROM includes many of Shostakovich's unpublished letters, autographs and rough notes of opuses, photographs from family albums, from museums, from private collections and archives.
Also included are declassified documents that bring to light many of the secrets behind his life and music.
