This is "Vivere." It is not exactly a cheerful album as all three compositions in various ways reference death. This theme is evident in the key choice (D minor, often associated with death), the Maiden's counterpart, and even quite literally with cellist Geneviève "dying" before the end of the recording. However, for us, to record this dramatic repertoire is to offer an ode to life. "Vivere" reminds us that by listening to this sombre music, we come to appreciate the wonder of life itself. The album is performed by the Ragazze Quartet, a group of four young women in the midst of their own vibrant lives.
