Timothy End
Having graduated with a first-class honours degree in music from King’s College, London, Timothy End BMus, DipRAM, ARAM entered the Royal Academy of Music, gaining the DipRAM award for an outstanding recital. He held the Shinn Fellowship at the Academy, studying under Julius Drake and Patsy Toh, and is now much sought after as a chamber musician. He was awarded both the Pianist Prize and the Jean Meikle Duo Prize at the Wigmore Hall Song Competition, and has won the Accompanists’ Prize at the Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards, the Parnell Award for an Accompanist at the Royal Over-Seas League Annual Music Competition, the Gerald Moore Award, and the Musicians Benevolent Fund Accompanist Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Competition. He has appeared on In Tune on BBC Radio 3 with the horn player Richard Watkins and mezzo-sopranos Rebecca Afonwy-Jones and Marta Fontanals-Simmons and is the accompanist of the Philharmonia Chorus and the City of London Choir. For the Presteigne Festival, Timothy End has recently recorded the world première of Ninfea Cruttwell-Reade’s Reginald, a work for narrator and chamber ensemble, based on the works of Saki.
