Sally Burgess (Herodias) has been particularly acclaimed for her portrayal of Bizet’s Carmen, a role she has performed for the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Opéra de Paris-Bastille, in Munich, London, Zurich, Berlin, Bregenz, New Zealand and Portland. She has sung with English National Opera, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Scottish Opera, the Bavarian State Opera and De Nederlandse Opera.
