Lee Reynolds

Winner of a Royal Philharmonic Society Award, Sky Arts Award, and Critics’ Circle Award, the conductor Lee Reynolds has earned a reputation for bringing intensity and exceptional detail to his performances and recordings. Highlights of his career include broadcast concerts with the London Symphony Orchestra and three recordings on LSO Live, performance débuts with Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Philharmonia Orchestra, his début at Glyndebourne Festival Opera with a new production of Lehár’s The Merry Widow, a new production of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, his house début at Opéra de Monte Carlo conducting Kurt Weill’s Street Scene, Puccini’s La bohème with Welsh National Opera, new productions of Bizet’s Carmen and Verdi’s Rigoletto at Opera Holland Park, and a recording of British horn concertos with Ben Goldscheider and the Philharmonia Orchestra. Other notable achievements include recording projects with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conducting three world premières at Glyndebourne, giving performances with the Sinfonietta Cracovia, BBC Philharmonic, Kraków Philharmonic, Dublin Concert Orchestra, and Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Kraków, as well as conducting a new production of Eugene Onegin with Nederlandse Reisopera. Taking a close editorial interest in everything he performs, Lee Reynolds has created newly engraved and corrected editions of many concert and operatic works including Lehár’s The Merry Widow, Rachmaninoff’s Aleko, Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, Gershwin’s Cuban Overture, and Richard Strauss’s early Symphony in F minor. His orchestrations have been performed around the world in concert, on the operatic stage, and on film.
