Irmina Trynkos

The Greek-Polish violinist Irmina Trynkos has been proclaimed ‘one of the most exciting new soloists to have appeared recently’, ‘clearly one to watch’. Since her breakthrough performance, conducted by Neeme Järvi, her concert appearances have included debuts at the Berliner Philharmonie, Wigmore Hall and Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Shanghai Oriental Art Center, and Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, where she received no fewer than six standing ovations. Her debut CD, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, became a bestseller, earning the Supersonic Award from the magazine Pizzicato for her ‘engaging and eloquent’ interpretation and ‘musical intelligence and emotional depth’, and her recordings are broadcast on radio stations internationally. The magazine Jewish Renaissance recently made her ‘Artist of the Year’ and her appearance on BBC Xtra TV was broadcast live to thirty-six million viewers worldwide. Her late mentor, the acclaimed violinist Lydia Mordkovitch, commented that ‘Irmina is a very natural performer, always giving her outmost and impressing the audience with her interpretation, warmth, and sensitivity. She loves being on the stage, which comes through in her playing and communication with the listeners’. Her background and uncommon life path have made Irmina Trynkos an unrivalled communicator to the young and to new audiences; she is a strong advocate of neglected compositions for the violin and collaborates with many living composers. www.irminatrynkos.com
