Federico Colli
Praised by Gramophone for the ‘crystalline brilliance and translucence that takes you to the heart of everything he plays’, the Italian pianist Federico Colli is internationally recognised for his intelligent, imaginative interpretations and impeccable technique. He was born in Brescia in 1988 and studied at the Conservatorio di musica ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ in Milan, Accademia Pianistica Internazionale ‘Incontri col Maestro’ in Imola, and Universität Mozarteum Salzburg, under the guidance of Sergio Marengoni, Konstantin Bogino, Boris Petrushansky, and Pavel Gililov. Since winning First Prize at the International Mozart Competition in Salzburg in 2011 and Gold Medal at the Leeds International Piano Competition in 2012, he has performed with leading orchestras across Europe and the Americas, including the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della RAI di Torino, Philharmonia Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Hallé, Philharmonie Zuidnederland, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Wiener KammerOrchester, and Camerata Salzburg, under such eminent conductors as Valery Gergiev, Sakari Oramo, Neil Thomson, Sir Mark Elder, Vasily Petrenko, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yuri Temirkanov, Alan Buribayev, Juraj Valcuha, Joji Hattori, and Thomas Søndergård. Federico Colli has appeared at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr, Duszniki International Chopin Piano Festival, Eilat Chamber Music Festival, Festival Pianistico Internazionale di Brescia e Bergamo, Accademia Filarmonica Romana, LSO St Luke’s, International Piano Series at the Southbank Centre in London, Sociedad Filarmónica de Bilbao, Società dei Concerti di Milano, White Nights Festival in St Petersburg, Joy of Music Festival in Hong Kong, Dvorák Prague International Music Festival, Cidade das Artes in Rio de Janeiro, Musashino Civic Cultural Hall in Tokyo, and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan.
