Aldo Orvieto
Aldo Orvieto was born in Padua in 1961, studied in Venice and owes a great deal of his musical education to Aldo Ciccolini.
He has made recordings for the most important European Radio networks: RAI, Radio France, Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Süddeutscher Rundfunk, Saarländischer Rundfunk, the Belgian and Sweedish Radio networks, RTSI and DRS. He has also recorded several CDs dedicated to classical and 20th-century composer for the Dynamic, Ricordi, Nuova Fonit Cetra, Stradivarius and Academy of Sound and Vision (ASV), CPO, Phoenix, As-disc, Giulia labels.
Orvieto collaborates with renowned soloist and singers such as John Tilbury, Marco Rapetti, Dora Bratchkova, Felix Ayo, Luigi Alberto Bianchi, Michel Dispa, Rodolfo Bonucci, Christian Hamouy and Luisa Castellani. In 1979 he founded, with other musicians, the Ex Novo Ensemble.
As a soloist he has performed with the RAI Symphony orchestras (Rom, Milan, Turin), the "Teatro La Fenice" orchestra (Venice), the Ensemble 2e2m (Paris), the Ensemble Accroche Note (Strasbourg), the Ensemble Instrumental de Grenoble.
He has participated in many of the most important Festival dedicated to 20th-century music, such as: Biennale di Venezia, Münchener Philarmoniker, Berlin Biennale, "Antasten" (Heilbronn), Akademie der Künste (Berlin), Mozarteum Salzburg, Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon), Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Oporto), Concerts Ville de Genève, Festival d'Avignon, Ars Musica (Brussels), Festival di Strasbourg, Warsaw Autums, Gaudeamus Foundation (Amsterdam), Tish Center for the Arts (Kaufmann Concert Hall, New York).
